By Subway
Take the MBTA Red Line to the Kendall/MIT station. The Media Lab building is a short walk from the stop: follow Main Street west to Ames Street, turn left, and walk about a long block to the corner of Amherst Street. The MIT Media Lab is on the left at the corner of Ames and Amherst Streets.

 

By Bus
MBTA 64, 68, 85, and CT2 buses stop nearby at Kendall Station on Main Street. Exit at Kendall Station, and follow the above directions for the short walk to 75 Amherst Street. MBTA 1 and CT1 buses stop at 77 Massachusetts Avenue on MIT’s West Campus. Exit at this stop, enter the Main Group of buildings and travel through the Infinite Corridor towards the East Campus. Turn right on Ames Street, and the MIT Media Lab building will be on the left at the corner of Ames and Amherst Streets.

 

By Bike

Cambridge, MA is known as an extremely bikable city, with 16 miles of bicycle lanes citywide. Ample bike racks surround the building entrances for visitors who plan to travel by bike.

 

Hubway
Visitors can rent bikes at Hubway stations across Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville. Bike docks are located nearby at Kendall Station at Main Street, and Vassar Street at Main Street; both are short walks to Ames Street. Visit Hubway’s site for pricing and details. MIT employees and students are eligible for subsidized Hubway memberships.

 

Parking

Public parking is available at 4 Cambridge Center, located next to the Marriott Hotel, with entrances on Ames Street and Broadway. Additional parking is available at the Cambridge Center West Garage, located on Ames Place, between the Broad Institute/Seven Cambridge Center and the Residential Inn by Marriott (both garage entrances are located on Ames Street).
